League Newsletter 4/1/20
Well, this is normally the time of year when I’d be reaching out to say we’re about to get things started. Originally, we had our season kickoff meeting schedule for 4/15 with league play starting the following week on 4/22.
We will be delaying everything by 4 weeks. The meeting is now set for 5/13, but the format will very likely change from a gathering in the clubhouse to posting of information and maybe a video going over the details for the season. We will plan to start league play on Wednesday 5/20.
As with everything else right now, this is subject to change; however, we will not start league play any sooner than 5/20. Beyond any governmental restrictions, the biggest factor for beginning league play will be if we are comforatable with 2 players sharing a golf cart. Currently, StonyCreek is walking only, and our first move to carts will likely limit riding to 1 player per cart. 1 player per cart would not be feasible during league play simply based on numbers.
In the meantime, let me know if you have any league related questions or comments, and the golf course is still open. Our full list of polices during the current situation can be view at StonyCreek COVID-19 procedures v3. We will be walking only through April 7th and then re-evaluate. Driving Range and Clubhouse are closed. Practice greens are open.
Lastly, I’m aware that to qualify for the Senior League you also qualify as higher risk of serious illness from the virus. I’m also aware that there are varied opinions on what the right way to handle this situation are. StonyCreek is going to make decisions that take in the account the safety of our staff and golfers both.
